TRAFFIC RULES

The first thing you notice when you come to Belarusis that we drive on the right-hand side of road.
The second thing you notice is that the steering wheel is on the left.



















However, the pedals are in the same position as in right-handed cars, with the accelerator on the right.The gears and and almost always the handbrake is operated with the right hand.Most cars in Belarus aremanual cars - they have a gear stick.
The wearing of front seat belts is mandatory.
The minimum age for driving a car is 18, and 16 for riding a moped or motorbike
Roads in Belarus range from wide modern motorways to narrow country lanes.

     Speed limits
In towns:
  • 60 km/h
  • 50 km/h for towing vehicles
Outside towns:
  • 90 km/h outside towns
  • 110 km/h on motorways
All speed limits are given on signs in kilometres per hour.Round signs indicate speed limits with the number circled by a red band.When the speed limit is no longer applied, then there is a black line crossing through the number.
